So my therapist has been helping me get to grips with my ADHD, and also the concept that I’m not shit at being an adult, I just can’t do things the way everyone has always told me to do them. Like every single “organize your life” books have always left me wanting to cry with frustration, and after I got hold of a copy of Organizing Solutions for People with ADHD
by Susan Pinsky I realized that was because they primarily focus on “aesthetic” over “function”. And the function of most standard “organize your life books” is to “make things look Show Home Perfect”.
So the standard “hide all your unsightly things by doing xyz” may look nice for the first week or so, but by the end of the week it’ll look like a tornado made of pure inhuman frustration ripped through the house as I try to find the fucking advil.
To give you an example of the kind of hell I’ve been fumbling my way through the last 20 odd years: dishes will be washed and left in the drying wrack but never put away. Which means I can’t wash more dishes, which means dishes pile up, which means I can’t make food, which means I don’t eat, which means my CFS gets worse, which means I don’t have the energy to put the dishes away, and so on so forth until I have a meltdown, cry to ETD (who also likely has ADHD but has never had it confirmed) about how I can’t cope with life, and then we fix it for a while, but inevitably end up back at square one within about a week.
Pinsky’s solution to this was “remove an obstacle between you and your goal, if that means taking all the doors off your kitchen cabinets to make things easier, so be it.”
And lemme tell you, fucking revolutionary.
Laundry never ends up in the hamper??? why???? is it a closed hamper??? Remove the lid. Throw it out the window. Clothes are now miraculously finding their way into the hamper??? Rejoice????
Mail ends up spread out over every available flat surface? Put a sorting station right where your mail arrives. Put a shredder or “junk” basket under it. Shred or dump the junk immediately. Realize you only actually have two real letters that need attention, feel less overwhelmed, pay your bills on time.
Like I’m not saying this book is miraculous, but it did help me realize that I was effectively torturing myself by trying to conform to certain ideals of “perfect house keeping”, and presenting a certain image rather than just allowing myself to live in my space as effectively as possible. And why? Why was I doing that? Cause people with different lives and capabilities are perceived as the norm? Fuck that. If this was a physical problem I wouldn’t be forcing myself to conform to an ableist standard, so why am I doing it with this?
My lived space will never look a certain way, and that’s okay. It will never look show home perfect, and that’s okay. It will likely always be cluttered and eclectic where nothing matches, and that’s okay. Sometimes I will have odd socks on because sorting them out required too much mental energy, and that’s okay. Actually fuck sorting socks, just buy all your socks in the same color. Problem solved. Boring sure, but also one less thing to do, which means more time to hyper fixate on fun things. Which really, what else is my life for if not to write screeds and screeds of vampire shit posts, I ask you.
So yesterday I attended Walker Stalker Con for the SOLE reason to meet Steven Yeun (and so he could sign my Sheith ita bag). The whole day I was lowkey nervous about how he’d react to my bag (and the ship), so I brought my RTR Keith book /just/ in case he didn’t feel comfortable signing it.
I wait in the autograph line for about 2 hours (at this point, almost 3) and it isn’t until I’m ONE person away that I get the butterflies, “Oh no, I’m next.” What if he doesn’t like my bag, what if he cringes!?!?!? So my turn is next, I say hi and shake his hand. I stumble out something about if he’s ok with signing my Shiro and Keith bag (would he even know the ship name??) He goes “Sure!”. But O.M.G, his friendly tone /quickly/ changed to that of a kid on Christmas morning when I lift up the bag to him; “Oh RAD. Fuck /yeah/” were the FIRST things to come out of his mouth after seeing my Sheith bag. (I was fucking beaming, y’all. Omg) he took a couple minutes to really look at all the charms and asked me where people keep getting all this “cool art” from. (Guys. He’s aware of our fanart.) And then he fuckin’ WIPS OUT HIS PHONE going, “I gotta take a picture.” And what the hell am I gonna say? No? (Pssshh) I hold it upright for him and goes, “No, I want you /in/ the photo. >;3” (fbwiskfbeidndOK SuRe) so he takes his photo. (My face and ita bag are in his gallery files rn..omfg..) after that it’s time for him to sign, he starts looking for a good spot to sign it..and even after /all/ that just happened, I STILL ask him, “I hope you don’t mind the pairing.” And y’all..he was sincere when he answered, “No, not at all!” (♡♡♡♡♡)
I rarely hear about his interactions with VLD fans and ZERO for any kind of shippy interactions.
He was /nothing/ but sweet and fun/excited when he took the time to look at all the charms and compliment our fandoms artists.
That is an interaction I will definitely /never/ forget. ♡

You know I remember a moment I held Shiro (from Voltron) at an idol position.
I would draw him, I would read fan fictions on him, lots of other things… *ahem*
Anyways, when I came stronger in my faith I told God I’d choose him over Shiro if I had to.
And guess what. God put me to the test.
Shiro came out as gay and I was DEVASTATED. But I knew I had to let it go. I couldn’t worship sin. I couldn’t accept him, I had to let him go.
So I chose God over Shiro.
Here’s the thing; interests come and go, they’ll change overtime, but God will always stay the same. He’ll always be there.
Gods worth it!
22 I will die in this land; I will not cross the Jordan; but you are about to cross over and take possession of that good land.23 Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden. 24 For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
Am I having a fucking stroke
God made an anime boy gay just to test this girl’s faith… wow 😯
Bakugou
has become
CATHOLIC
@huntypastellance is this the type of post you meant when you said about “shirowives”
@capt-shirogane Not this blog specifically, but I see you have found the part of homophobic religious section of the vld fandom! (Yes, that exists. Also, yes they hate Bex even more than the antis & even blame her for pushing the “gay agenda” onto VLD.)
The one I was talking about apparently went through conversion therapy or something (since they called themself an “ex-gay” & said they didn’t want to go back to their “sinning ways”, which is both really fucking sad & horrifying).
I am so glad to be a non-practicing pagan with zero religious obligations (other than generic Chinese customs like festivals & the like).
Okay. Listen. This manhwa is for yall out there who just want a chill, innocent, non complicated, 50/50 fluff-to-humor ratio story. Blonde and Brunette. And listen, listen, listen… This is DIABETES worth sugar. The art style is really good too. It’s simple but somewhat sophisticated. So far it has 139 short chapters (about 12 pages per chapter). There’s a linear story to it, but it sometimes drifts to a completely different timeline. It updates about once a month, or sometimes once every two months. 11/12
2. Fluttering/Exciting Feelings (Ongoing/Currently in Hiatus due to Author’s health)
Before I even start with this, I got major Korrasami vibes out of it ho ly shit. Anyway, this manhwa is currently at chapter 68, and sad to say that the author may never continue the story again due to cancer and several other reasons. But I am still adding this manhwa to the list because it’s sooo good. It’s not as fluffy and humorous as Tamen De Gushi because later in the story, No-rae (brown hair) brings in some drama while Seol-a has drama of her own kind. The art is simple but it’s great enough to look amazing. Still though, the manhwa is great, but sadly… it might be discontinued :(. 10/12
3. Citrus [Saburouta] (Ongoing)
I like this manga. I like it a lot. The art is good anatomy wise, but sometimes it gets too…. much….. Here’s a note, though: These two are step sisters. Yes. You heard me right. There are a lot of love triangles, a lot of drama, a lot of “Im-gonna-kiss-her-wait-no-nvm” moments, butthere are a lot of WELL-DRAWN kiss scenes and semi-sexual things. There is almost no story line? Well, there is, but it’s your typical high school plot. It barely updates, and it currently has 30 chapters. Probably updates once every two months. 8.5/12
4. Yagate Kimi Ni Naru (Ongoing)
Yo, listen. This one is ……. VERY complicated. If you are planning on reading this story, I need you to know that this is as basic as I can put it: Nanami hates herself and doesn’t want her partner Yuu to fall in love with her, while Yuu is someone who can’t fall in love with someone. The art is simple but good god it’s really good *o*. It has fluff, but for every fluff there will always be some sort of angst right after or before it. There is certainly a plot line on this but it doesn’t focus too much on the plot. Characters are great and they have a personality of their own. Despite the “Im not in love” thing that is going on in this manga, there are many, many, cute parts. It updates about once every month or every two months. 10.5/12
5. The Love Doctor (Ongoing)
(PS: this image is misleading btw but it was too fucking cute) I. freaking. love. this. manhwa. so. much. Now, this has many, many fluff moments but it also has its bulk of angst and drama. Love(ish) triangles, dark past from both parties, and there IS an age gap between the two but I forgot how many years. Still though!!! It is worth a read! The art style is cute and light and adorable, but sometimes the emotions can start looking the same in each panel (especially for one of the characters). Updates, I believe, every month. 11/12
6. Pulse [Ratana Satis] (Ongoing)
Look at this art. Look at it. Isn’t it cute? Well, if you’re here for cute shit turn the fuck away cus this IS indeed cute, buuuuuut it also has sex scenes. There is also fluff and drama, and as you can see, one of them is a doctor. The art style is pretty well done and really sophisticated. I can’t remember if there’s an age gap? I’m pretty sure there is? Anyway!!! There’s a story, yes, and also a shitty ex that no one should like but everyone feels sorry for (for good reasons of course). 12/12
7. Magan & Danai / Magan he Danai (Ongoing)
This one reminds me of Tamen De Gushi a lot, BUT…. This one is directed to the life of two women who love each other and what happens in their daily life. The art is much more detailed that TDG, and the characters have very different personalities. Danai, the shorter one, is the more mature one but also the more feminine one while Magan, the taller one, is definitely a fucking cry baby. To be honest, idk how frequently it updates? But!!! Still!! Go watch!!! 11/12
8. What Does the Fox Say? (Ongoing, 2 chapters left)
Ho ly shit whe re to be gin…? Definitely not light. It is not full of fun or fluffy or innocent. This manhwa is dark, sexy, angsty, drama-filled, teeth gritting, and very complicated. VERY, VERY, VERY, Adult. A story with a beautiful young blonde who loves a much older boss, and the much older boss has a shitty ex that everyone loves who fucked up a lot but she has her reasons. This is one of those manhwas that you need to ANALYZE every. single. fucking. scene. It is one of those where each scene MEANS something and you have to keep a sharp eye even at the sex scenes. The art style is good. Not amazing, but decent enough. As I said, it ends in two chapters. It updates twice a month (from my observations). 12/12
I was just about to make a post about this. I’ve got you buddy 👌
So for people wanting to get invested into Venom and specifically the growing relationship of Eddie and the Symbiote behold✨~
• Venom The Hunger
An old comic in which Eddie has a mullet. But you have to look past the mullet because this suppose to be the big romantic cheese of the old comic books.(I haven’t gotten to reading yet but I’ve seen great comic panels) And it’s where the story develops my favorite Venom quirk, necessary chocolate eating. 🍫
•Venom (2016)
Like it says from 2016 and it’s where I stared. This one is also full of affection for eachother, and action. When you start reading don’t be confused that Venom’s host isn’t Eddie Brock. You’ll get to the big boy eventually.
The first five issues of this comic do involve the symbiote being emotionally manipulated, and physically abused it’s nothing too intense however. Unless that sounds like it is going to effect you I would suggest reading these. It really dives into the symbiotie and how it desperately wants to be a good person.
If you do wants to skip! Read the first issue and then jump to the sixth one that’s when it’s Brock time. It’s a really good Venom series. And it’s has the most our right affection between Eddie and the Symbiote!I really recommend this series!
This next comic comes immediately after Venom 2016
• Venom First Host
Okay listen. This is my favorite series.
For new fans the other symbiote characters like Carnage,
Riot, Scream, are a few of the Venom symbiote’s spawn. That’s right ladies and gentlemen through the power of asexual reproduction the Venom is a parent. 👶Unfortunately most of it’s children have turned out to be criminals.
That’s where this plot comes from. The symbiote pops out another gooey baby and is desperate to raise it right and keep it safe from other criminals who may manipulate it for its powers. So Eddie becomes a alien baby daddy, and together the Symbiote and Eddie do whatever they can to protect their baby and eachother.
If this comic doesn’t establish Eddie’s and Venom’s relationship then I don’t know what will.
Look at this babybiote how could you not wanna protect that!
And that’s what I’ve got! I hope you enjoy these comics as much as I have!
Also honestly hit up @apprenticenanoswarm I got most of my comic info from their blog when I was starting out
If anyone’s curious about this, here are the notes I transcribed about the scratch reel from the panel:
What is a scratch reel? – In between the storyboarding, animating, and voice acting process, Lauren Montgomery (Executive Producer) explained that the staff realizes that they might need some additional lines, maybe lines get condensed, change names, and so on. But they don’t always have time to get the VA’s back in to re-record.
“So a lot of times, it falls upon one of us to put in some temporary dialogue and fill that space, they animate to it, and then we get the animation back and the actors replace the dialogue and it sounds great. But in the meantime, we get to watch some ridiculously horrible acting on behalf of the entire staff – editors, assistants, etc.”
Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge’s VA) noted: “It’s always breaks my heart a little to dub over the scratch tracks, because it’s so beautiful,” while Josh added that he’d love to see an episode just entirely of scratch tracks.“
Jeremy Shada (Lance’s VA) said his favorite parts of the scratch reel were when half the scene were the actual VA lines, and then it was one non-VA word randomly mixed in between.
Joaquim Dos Santos (Executive Producer) chimed in that they had two seasons of the ‘Scratchy Awards,’ where they handed out staff awards for the best scratch tracks produced (hahaha), where Mitch Iverson spraypainted a bunch of backscratchers with ‘Scratchy’ Awards’ on it.
After they aired the scratch reel, Josh Hamilton (Story Editor) noted that there are still some times where scratch ends up being in-screen and it’s an unexpected surprise when they’re reviewing the editing process.
The most popular scratch reel choice among the VA’s is Director Steve Ahn, who had a lot of the ‘Ok, calm down’ lines in this reel, prompting Steven Yeun (Keith’s VA) to once ask: “Could I get that as my ringtone?“
Benjamin Kaltenecker actually did all of the ‘moo’ sounds for Kaltenecker in this reel.
Josh Keaton (Shiro’s VA) noted that Joaquim voices a pretty decent Shiro, and "that’s why you didn’t see any scratch scenes of that because it’s not bad.”
Bex noted that she loved it when Lauren had to voice some of the Galra men for the scratch scenes.
Lauren noted that most of the scratch scenes were recorded late at night and the cast & crew weren’t really fighting to do a scratch scene, and “we’re not usually fighting to voice a character, but it’s more like ‘who has to do it now? Who hasn’t done it in awhile??’
“While we’re in shame of our bad acting…poor Rhys [Coran’s VA] had to sit through and be insulted since nobody can actually pull off Coran’s accent.” Though, Joaquim pointed out that Jeremy does a decent Coran impression which he then demonstrated for the crowd.
Joaquim added: "The hardest thing to do is to record scratch in the booth and it’s played back to the actual VA’s and we can’t hear them because their mics are off, but they’re pantomiming the loudest laughter.”
Kimberly reassured that the VA’s loved hearing the crew’s voices for the scratch reel.
Josh K. added that “it’s like hearing your friends do an impression of you, and makes ADR sessions fun, since they can be so technical at times. It’s like getting to watch bloopers.”
